Capacity Building of BNMT staffs on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support
A team from BNMT participated in three day training from 23rd to 25th June conducted by AmeriCares on “Mental Health and Psychosocial Support” in Greenwich Hotel in Lalitpur. BNMT was happy to share the training opportunity with the counsellors from Save the Children and ACHA Himalayan Sisterhood. A total of 21 participants attended the training. The training covered the vital aspect of psychosocial support program

- Validation and Mirroring
- Grounding Skills
- Do No harm
b) Non-Violent Communication (NVC) Skills
c) Trauma and Grief Processing
d) Substance Abuse and Addiction
e) Suicide Intervention
f) Support Groups and Peer Support
g) Psychosocial Integration Techniques
h) MH Identification, Referral Mechanisms
We would like to thank AmeriCares and specially Amanda Lee, MHPSS Technical Advisor for her wonderful facilitation during the entire training session. The training has further enhanced our understanding and skills on Pyschosocial Support and we are committed to use the lesson learnt in our ongoing community based Psychosocial Counselling and Support Program in earthquake affected areas.
