Ian Baker
In Memoriam

Ian Baker died on 12th April after a long illness. He worked for BNMT in Nepal in 1973 and 1974 as one of the team doctors and went on to become our longest serving Trustee for 38 years between 1976-2014. He visited BNMT in Nepal several times during his time as trustee to ensure he was up to date with its changing programs and staff. He was twice Chair of the Trustees and helped guide the Trust through many challenging times over the years, with his invaluable qualities of expertise and experience, and the calm quiet voice of common sense. Throughout his time as Trustee Ian also had a vital role in helping secure funds. He was awarded the MBE for his services to BNMT in 2007.
In addition to his long service to BNMT he had an eminent role as Director of Public Health in Bristol.
