All staff meeting 2025

On 28th June 2025, BNMT Nepal successfully held its most significant annual All Staff Meeting in Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. This special gathering united 166 members of the BNMT family for the first time in the organization’s history —including team members from all projects (Global Fund/UNDP TB Project, CRITIC, Accelerate, Nourish, Prevent TB to End TB, and TB Shield) across 17 districts in 5 provinces—along with our Executive Board Members and Senior Management. This gathering was more than a routine meeting. It was a platform where all the staff came together to reconnect, reflect, and reimagine the future of BNMT. The decision to invest in bringing the entire organization together was guided by the belief that our people are our greatest strength.

The event provided space for cross-learning, recognition, strategic input, and shared commitment. It also offered staff working in remote locations a rare opportunity to interact with colleagues from other regions and feel part of the larger BNMT family. The energy, motivation, and sense of unity created through this meeting reaffirmed that such an investment was not only worthwhile but essential for our growth as a people-centered organization.

The day commenced with opening remarks from Chairperson Mahesh Sharma, who provided an overview of the Global Fund’s architecture, funding modalities, and implementation. National Program Coordinator Gyanendra Shrestha then reflected on key achievements and outlined future priorities—instilling pride and renewed motivation across the team.

A dynamic poster presentation session followed, where 10 different team from all projects showcased key achievements, challenges, and lessons learned—fostering exchange and peer learning. Then, the participatory group activity, Wall of Voices, created space for staff across all levels to share reflections and priorities. It invited staff across all levels to respond to key questions about needs of communities, reflections on our interventions and gaps, best practices, and ideas for improvement, reinforcing that every voice matters. These insights will help shape responsive and informed strategic direction.

This was followed by ‘Every Leaf a Promise’ activity, all the staff and board members took part adding colored thumbprints to a tree poster as a personal pledge to end TB. The Commitment Tree now stands as a lasting symbol of our shared responsibility and collective resolve.

An open discussion session encouraged honest dialogue—raising questions, ideas, and aspirations that furthered shared understanding and team cohesion.

A moving segment, Voices from the Community, featured TB Champions Anju Kumari Tharu and Krishna Chandra Sanjyal, who shared powerful personal stories of resilience and advocacy. Field Supervisors Naresh Kumar Thakur and Srijana Kumari Yadav added practical insights from their work in communities. Hearing directly from those affected or actively involved in TB efforts reminded everyone why our work matters.

Another highlight was the Photo Competition, where vibrant images captured the essence of our work. Through live voting, Madhav Khanal (DPC) was declared winner of the competition followed by Kiran Chaudhary (Field Supervisor), First Runner-up and Asmita KC (ORW), Second Runner-up!

This was followed by Award ceremony that recognized and celebrated the exceptional contributions of BNMT staff, fostering motivation and reinforcing a culture of excellence. Global Fund Karnali Province team and Critic project team received the Best Posters Award, while Dipendra Panday and Bivechana Pandey were honored as Employees of the Year for their exceptional contributions.

To conclude the day, Dr. Maxine Caws offered key reflections and takeaways, weaving together insights from the day’s discussions. Our Treasurer, Mr. Heem Shakya, congratulated winners from each category for their accomplishments. He also encouraged all participants to carry forward the momentum with renewed commitment and shared purpose.

It was truly a memorable day—rich in learning, reflection, unity, and inspiration. The meeting successfully strengthened staff ownership of BNMT’s mission and energized collective momentum for the 2025–2030 strategy.  The stories shared, commitments made, and voices heard during the day in Lumbini will continue to shape our path forward, grounded in community needs, driven by field realities, and united by our shared vision of ending TB and advancing health equity in Nepal.
