Art Therapy session at Prisoners Assistance Nepal
On 15th October, 2015 BNMT organised Art Therapy session at Prisoners Assistance Nepal (PA Nepal), Nayabazaar in collaboration with The Relief Trust to mark the World Mental Health Day. Ms. Chetana Lokshum of The Relief trust facilitated the programme with an assistance provided by Mr. Aashish, where BNMT assisted with logistics support.
11 children of PA Nepal actively participated the programme where they were introduced with the Caricature Game and Art Therapy. The 1st half of the art therapy was based on their present situation such as difficulties, wishes, aim, struggle etc. The second half of the therapy was based on the Emotional Wheel where they mentioned different kind of emotions such as happy, sad, fear, confusion, love, hate etc. as a form of numbers and described it individually.
All children found this therapy very effective as they were able to express their different obstacles via emotional wheel. They were determined to work out with those negative emotions and focus more in life.
The Founder of PA Nepal Ms. Indira Rana Magar thanked both organisations to introduce this therapy among those children and she is very hopeful that they will utilise it in their life.
