Awareness Campaign on WASH in Manahari VDC, Makwanpur
Under the project, “Health Facilities Reconstruction and Health Service Strengthening in Makwanpur District, Nepal”, BNMT Nepal conducted an awareness campaign on WASH in Manahari VDC on the occasion of “Third Manohari Utsab (fest)” organized from 27th January to 8th February 2017. The campaign had ‘Hand-washing Station’ placed at the fest that mainly focused on improving personal hygiene and sanitation of the community people.
In the Hand-washing Station, ‘Six steps of Hand washing’ was exhibited to the local people visiting the fest. Similarly, soaps, water buckets, towels were made available at the station and posters and pamphlets on hand washing, usage of toilets, promotion of personal hygiene were displayed and distributed from the station.
The event mobilized health workers from Manahari PHC as well as BNMT Community Mobilizer at the station. A total of 169 community people including 105 females and 64 males benefitted from the Hand washing services in the campaign.
