Capacity Enhancement Orientations to Prescribers on MHPSS
Under the project, Health Facilities Reconstruction and Health Service Strengthening in Makwanpur district, Nepal, Orientation Programs on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) were organized in three intervention VDCs with the objective of enhancing capacity of health workers in the respective communities. The orientation programs followed the standards guidelines of National Health Training Centre (NHTC). The sessions focused on identification of psychosocial problems; basic communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal) in counselling; mental health problems; and reporting and referral of mental and psychosocial cases seen in the communities.
