ISPOR Europe Conference 2025
BNMT Nepal was excited to participate in the ISPOR Europe Conference 2025, held from 9–12 November 2025 in Glasgow, Scotland. Representing BNMT Nepal, Ms. Anchal Thapa, Health Economist and Deputy Research Manager, attended the conference. She was also a recipient of the ISPOR Travel Grant, awarded to selected members from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
The four-day conference brought together global healthcare leaders, researchers, and decision-makers working in the field of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR). The central theme, “Powering Value and Access Through Patient-Centered Collaboration,” emphasized the importance of integrating patient perspectives into value assessment and access decisions to promote more equitable and sustainable healthcare systems.
During the conference, Ms. Thapa delivered an in-person poster presentation titled “What is the cost of preventing tuberculosis (TB)? A cost-effectiveness analysis of household contact tracing with TB preventive therapy in rural and urban areas of Nepal.” The study findings demonstrated that implementing TB preventive therapy using the 3HP regimen alongside household contact tracing is highly cost-effective in both rural and urban settings in Nepal.
Participation in this international conference was a valuable opportunity as it enabled institutional engagement with health economists from other low- and middle-income countries, facilitated the exchange of insights on shared research challenges, and strengthened professional networks. The conference also provided exposure to cutting-edge research and real-world case studies, many of which have potential relevance for adaptation and application within the Nepali context.
Overall, participation in ISPOR Europe 2025 strengthened BNMT Nepal’s institutional networks, enabled the organization to showcase its research on a global platform, and contributed to the professional development of early-career researchers.
