Drone and TB awareness in Pyuthan Swargadwari Trade and Exhibition Expo 2020
From 20th Feb 2020 to 1th March 2020, 11 days drone and TB awareness program was conducted by BNMT Pyuthan team in Swargadwari Trade and exhibition Expo 2020, Pyuthan. The awareness program was mainly done via two methods – leaflet distribution about tuberculosis and drone; and playing audio jingle about tuberculosis and contact tracing. BNMT had a stall placed in the exhibition with posters, leaflets, banners depicting key massages about tuberculosis and its sign and symptoms and the preventives measures. Moreover, the drone and smart pillbox utilized by the DrOTS Nepal project were also placed in the exhibition. The local communities were very excited to see the drone and know about the drone utilization for TB reduction in their district. Many of them were so impressed that they requested to expand the drone flight in their area.
More than 1500 people including the community residing in remote hard to reach areas visited the stall, specially the school students were very interested to know about the use of new technology in Tuberculosis reduction program in Nepal. This type Health awareness program significantly helped to improve the knowledge about tuberculosis in the community.
