DrOTS audio-visual sharing in the National Joint Annual Review
BNMT Nepal participated in the National Joint Annual Review organized by Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) at the central level from 4th to 5th December, 2019. The program was attended by distinguished professionals from the ministry including the health minister, division directors, provincial directors and the head of the EDPs. In the program, BNMT Nepal got the opportunity to share the audio-visual of our pilot drone project, DrOTS Nepal. DrOTS Nepal aims for rapid diagnosis of new TB cases in geographically challenged communities of Pyuthan district of Nepal through utilization of drones and improve the treatment adherence/patient compliance through smart pill boxes called MERMS, thereby reducing the access barriers to health care. The project works collectively with the government and different national and international partners.
In the forum, our work was highly appreciated by the government and the EDPs. This innovative technology was taken as a prospect to scale up in other areas of health care delivery for improving the health outcomes of the country.
