Forum Theatres performed by Circus Kathmandu in Sindhupalchowk, Nepal
3 forum theatres on child marriage were organized by BNMT Nepal on 7th, 8th and 9th January, 2020 at three places of Indrawati Rural Municipality: Sipapokhare, Kunchowk and Badegaun respectively. These theatres were conducted under the AmplifyChange project. The forum theatres were performed by the Circus Kathmandu, Nepal. Prior to each forum theatres, circus workshops were provided to the students. The workshop comprised of team building sessions, games, and demonstration of circus skills.
Approximately, 1200 audiences including students, teachers, parents, community people, ward representatives, health workers, representatives from Civil Society Organizations and youth clubs were present to watch the forum theatres in all three places. The themes of forum theatres were carefully planned reviewed and rehearsed several times before they were conducted in the communities. Audiences loved the circus act and forum theatre. We received positive feedbacks from the community and other stakeholders. Students actively participated and enjoyed the circus workshops.
