MHPSS Orientations in Makwanpur
Under the project, “Health Facilities Reconstruction and Health Service Strengthening in Makwanpur District, Nepal”, Capacity enhancement MHPSS Orientation Programs for prescribers were organized in the remaining four VDCs of the district in the month of January. The participants were the health workers including Health Assistants (HA), Staff Nurses (SN), Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM) and Auxiliary Health Workers (AHW). The main features of the orientations were psychosocial well being and identification of psychosocial problems; Effect of psychosocial problems on mind, body and behaviour; Communication skills in Counselling (both verbal and non-verbal); mental health problems; Reporting of mental/ psychosocial cases and Referral system. The duration of the orientation programs were three days.
