Orientations to parents on Comprehensive Sexuality Education at three places of Sindhupalchowk district.
Three orientation programs on Comprehensive Sexuality Education to parents and teachers of Singhamati Ma.Vi, Shree Rajeshwori Ma.Vi, Shree Sipateenghare Sanskrit Ma.Vi were conducted on 20th, 21st and 22nd August 2021 repectively. The orientation programs were organized by BNMT Nepal’s downstream delivery partners for AmplifyChange project, Shree Sindhu Punarjagaran Sangh, Indrawati Community Service Center and Community Development and Environment Conservation Forum. The orientation programs were conducted with an objective of creating an environment for open discussion on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) issues between parents and children on SRHR through improved relationship, communication and trust. In the program, participants were informed on SRHR, its definition, concepts and importance through life cycle approach. The discussions mainly focused on SRHR issues like menstruation, child marriage, unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortion, STIs, HIV and AIDS, harassment, abuse, violence and concept of equality, respect and consent. A total of 122 participants benefitted from the programs.
