WASH Committee Meeting for construction of community toilets in Badegaun and Sipapokhare, Sindhupalchowk
Under Enhancing Community Health in Nepal, WASH committee meetings were conducted in Badegaun VDC on 1st March and Sipapokhare VDC on 5th March, 2017 respectively for initiating the construction process of community toilets. A total of 10 including 4 females and 6 males participated in Badegaun meeting and 17 including 8 females and 9 males participated in Sipapokhare meeting.
The overall objective of the meetings were to discuss about the site selection, physical necessities like water and sanitation system, electricity and management of the overall construction process in the VDCs.
Also, observing the high need of community toilets in Badegaun VDC, the committee decided to construct two community toilets in Aishelukharka -9 and in Basantapur – 2. So, for sustainability of the community toilets in the VDC, Community Toilet Consumer Committee was formed for each of the locations comprising of 6 members and 5 members respectively.
