Welcoming Anje Clarke, Dr. Richard Storkenmeir and Dr. Carin Storkenmeir
On 15th April 2025, BNMT Nepal had the pleasure of hosting multiple esteemed guests at our office. Ms. Anje Clarke from Inkfish, our primary funder for the upcoming TB Shield project, visited us to engage more closely with the team and gain insights into the project’s implementation strategy. We also welcomed Dr. Richard (Nephrologist) and Dr. Carin (Neurosurgeon) from the German Nepal Help Association. Their visit was facilitated through a recommendation by the Nepal Med Foundation, with the objective of learning more about BNMT Nepal’s longstanding work in the health sector.
During the joint meeting, BNMT Nepal’s Research Manager, Ms. Kritika Dixit, gave a comprehensive presentation on our organization’s 60-year journey. The presentation highlighted our flagship and new projects, key milestones, challenges encountered, and valuable learnings over the years. She also emphasized the impact of our interventions in improving public health outcomes in Nepal.
A significant portion of the discussion centered on the 3HP TB preventive therapy, exploring its cost-effectiveness and programmatic impact. The use of drones for delivering medical supplies in hard-to-reach areas was also discussed, particularly in terms of feasibility, cost, and operational efficiency. Additionally, our work in adolescent sexual and reproductive health attracted interest, with guests appreciating the importance and sensitivity of this area of intervention.
The meeting concluded with a constructive exchange of ideas regarding future collaboration, mutual support, to further enhance healthcare delivery in Nepal. All parties expressed enthusiasm about exploring synergies to enhance health outcomes in Nepal.
